GE Healthcare's MAC™ 5 12-lead ECG system is specifically designed to streamline workflows in surgeries and clinics and can be optionally equipped with numerous features that ensure accurate ECG recordings and interpretations. When viewing the ECG, the first thing that stands out, regardless of the design, is the large touch screen. Operation is easy and intuitive, even while wearing examination gloves, and the device features a clear user display.

While the optional Smart Auto ECG algorithm provides automatic acquisition and display of accurate ECGs, the optional Smart Lead technology detects the disconnection of leads from the patient. In addition, the advanced algorithms also enable the analysis of critical values or acute coronary syndrome. In addition, an optimised Hookup Advisor offers practical instructions to inexperienced users, which facilitate the derivation of the ECG and ensure its optimal quality. This way, the potential for error sources is reduced to a minimum.

With the separately available 12SL measurement & interpretation software, the MAC™ 5 offers its users a reliable decision support that considers both the gender and the age of the patient. Therefore, the compact ECG system allows for gender- and paediatric-specific interpretation. In order to speed up the evaluation in the subsequent treatment process, separately compressed full-disclosure rhythm reports are available to the medical staff if required, which summarise 30 pages of collected data on only 3 pages.
