Background of Kirito’s Sword

Kirigaya Kazuto (commonly known as 'Kirito') is one of the players that was accepted into the Sword Art Online closed-beta game, in the anime and light novel series Sword Art Online. As a solo player who wears black clothing, he was known as the 'Black Swordsman,' who defeated the final boss of Sword Art Online and freed the players that were trapped in the game.

Kirito wields the Black Iron Great Sword in the game ALfheim Online. Despite Kirito being built for speed, the immense weight of this sword is perfect for Kirito, as shown when he used the sword with one hand to block arrows. Although the sword does not have any special powers, Kirito's expert swordsmanship matched it against the legendary Demonic Sword Gram. The Black Iron Great Sword has a black double-edged blade with an oval-shaped pommel and a slight crescent-shaped handguard.
