Chevron Beads, also known as Star Beads or Rosetta, were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Barovier on the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead-making techniques often draw from ancient practices, the Chevron method is uniquely Venetian. These beads can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black Chevron beads are considered rare. The term "Chevron" refers to their distinctive zigzag or mountain-shaped pattern. This technique later spread to the Netherlands, where Chevron beads were also produced.
