Do I need to drain the reservoir before installation?

It's a good idea to empty or pump out the reservoir before swapping the pump. Makes access easier and prevents spills in the engine bay.

What if the pump doesn't prime after I install it?

Fill the reservoir completely with washer fluid and activate the spray switch a few times to force fluid through the system and purge air from the lines. If pressure still doesn't build, check your hose connections for kinks or loose fittings.
