Edwardian Skirt in Burgundy Red Silk Velvet Bead Trim
Exquisite evening skirt from the turn of the 20th century, it's body is cut out of a thick and lustrous silk satin in burgundy red. It has a beige waist band (looks like a modern day replacement), and interesting gathered sections of horizontal bands that almost look like ruching but are generally more like small tufted panels. Bottom area has deep burgundy velvet panels with V shaped ends, offset by fringed beading. The final tier is red silk in wide pleats. Fully lined at the interior it has a slit pocket at the right hip! Closes with a hook at rear (modern replacement.)
Fabric: looks and feels like a silk satin with lower area in velvet and beading
Size: no tag / fits like a M / see exact measurements below to ensure fit
Condition: good/wearable but AS IS. The red silk underneath the beige waist band shows tearing at the surface level of the silk. See last pic for details. Also, the very edges of the tufted textured sections show random wear as pictured. There are also a few, small random places that show some surface shredding to the skirt - noticeable only when pointed out in direct light. Priced accordingly..
