Product Description: This is a strand of Etched Carnelian Beads.
Note: As these are antique items, they may have scratches, cracks, or chips.
Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE
These beads originate from the Indus Valley Civilization. Patterns were created using a liquid called natron, derived from plants, and then fired at low temperatures of around 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While they have been unearthed at archaeological sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, they are believed to have been manufactured in the Indus Valley and transported via land and sea routes.
