The bare steel components will benefit from a protective finish if exposed to moisture long-term. Light surface prep and a coat of rust inhibitor or paint is recommended before installation, especially if the regulator will be inside the door cavity.

Hardware is not included with this assembly. You'll need the bolts and clips that came with your vehicle's original window regulator—save them during removal, or source the OEM fastener kit separately.
